The Single Biggest Factor In You Quitting Smoking

For those of you who are under the impression that quitting smoking is incredibly difficult, I'm going to enlighten you as to the single biggest factor in quitting smoking. As a person who choked down cigarettes for the better part of fifteen years, and stopped the practice once and for all, I think I have a little expertise on the subject. And guess what? You don't need gum, drugs, hypnosis, or patches. As a matter of fact quitting smoking shouldn't cost you one red cent.

Since I finally quit smoking once and for all, I've realized that most of the people who say they want to help you quit are simply trying to sell something to you. They are usually selling something that will supposedly help you stop smoking. The first thing you need to do, is to stop buying into all of the hype out there. You don't need something that someone's selling. All you need to do is believe in yourself. That's the big secret. A belief that you can quit.

I think Lydia M. Child said it best when she said, "Belief in oneself is one of the most important bricks in building any successful venture." This is absolutely true and our venture is quitting smoking. You have to believe that you can quit. Start telling yourself how easy it will be to stop smoking, rather than how hard it's going to be. It all comes down to how you think and what you believe about smoking. That's the biggest factor in stopping.

Once I began to believe that quitting wasn't going to be that difficult, it became simple. Trying to quit was no longer a struggle. I simply stopped smoking. And it was entirely because I believed that I could, and I believed that it wasn't going to be that difficult. And do you know what? It wasn't difficult. In fact it was one of the easiest things that I've ever done. It was so simple I'm still not sure why I didn't grasp it before?

The biggest factor in quitting smoking was changing my beliefs about smoking. That, in a nutshell, was it. I walked away from smoking forever and you can to, that's the bottom line. You don't have to be a slave to cancer sticks any longer. Simply begin changing your beliefs about smoking and the changes in the act of smoking will follow. If I did it, I know anyone can do it.
